James J. Wegmann

 

 

Jim Wegmann originally hails from Texas.  He attended the University of Texas and graduated in 1985 with a Bachelors Degree in Political Science.  Following his graduation from Texas, Mr. Wegmann was commissioned a Second Lieutenant in the U.S. Marine Corps. 

After training at the Officer's Basic School, Mr. Wegmann transferred to Pensacola, Florida where he began his training as a Naval Flight Officer.  Upon completion, First Lieutenant Wegmann was designated an A6E Bombardier Navigator and reported to VMA(AW)-121, the Green Knights, who were currently assigned to Carrier Air Wing-2 aboard the USS Ranger.  During his five years as a naval Flight Officer, Mr. Wegmann obtained his Mission Commander rating, was the winner of the prestigious Norden Bomb Sight Pickle Barrel Award, and obtained a secondary Military Occupational Specialty of Aviation Maintenance Officer.

In 1991, Mr. Wegmann was accepted into the Funded Law Program and began attending Law School at Oklahoma City University.  Mr. Wegmann graduated Magna Cum Laude in 1994 and reported to the Depot, Mr. Wegmann served in a variety of billets to include Chief Legal Assistance Officer, Senior Defense Counsel, Special Assistant U.S. Attorney and Director of the Tax Center.  During his term as Chief Legal Assistance Officer, Parris Island received the American Bar Association Military Legal Assistance Office of the Year Award.  In 1997, Mr. Wegmann resigned from the Marine Corps to join Mr. Weidner in private practice.
